Activities in Class

Each class has its specialty on which area to improve, and some classes are mandatory to graduate high school. For example, in PE class, students develop their physical strength; whereas, in math class, a student develops numerical areas. However, students have different talents, and they should be valued for individuals. To reinforce student’s talents, activities in class should not be limited. For example, when a teacher gives out an activity, he or she should not limit the choices of what students are allowed to do because it eliminates the possibility of one’s talent. Rather, a teacher should give out a topic of an activity, and create an environment where they can come up with their own talents. In addition, teachers should not have bias in what one provides because it discourages one’s ability to spread.

Classroom assignments

Every class has assignments, but they are limited to writing or numerical performances. To improve this information, classes should give out a project that could have a wide range of sources. For example, if there is an assignment of backing evidence of certain question, students should be able to back evidence up using different intelligence. For example, one could write a factual essay, and the other could write a song, using evidence to answer the question. If one is specialized in acting, he or she could act out the scene to answer the question. In this way, students would not be limited just to writing or numerical areas.

Graduation requirements

All schools have its graduation requirements. However, most of them require academic areas. For example, at KIS, Math, English, Science, and Social Studies require four credits; whereas music or visual art only requires one credit. This requirement would limit one’s specialty. For example, if a student wants to major in music, he or she should take variety of music classes to improve her intelligence. However, the student would have limitation on the music courses she takes because there are so many other courses he or she needs to take because they are mandatory. To modify this issue so that student of different intelligences can enhance their performance, the school should try to modify the mandatory requirements to more of a selective choice, where students are able to choose the classes they want to take.
